Publican Quality Bread:
As its name suggests, it has quality bread (and the best almond croissants)
La Colombe:
Nora and Andrew's favorite coffee chain! Their oat half-tan is incredible (half oat draft latte, half cold brew). They also stock Publican pastries.
Mindy’s:
Wicker Park’s best bagels, pastries, and hot chocolate
Kasama:
Filipino breakfast sandwiches and pastries (or ball out for their 2 Michilen star dinner). There's usually a long line but you can place an order online for pick-up!
Obélix:
Nora and Andrew’s favorite French brunch spot
Goddess and the Baker:
Short walk from the wedding venue
J.P. Graziano:
The best sandwich shop and a quick walk from the wedding venue. Don’t skip the giardiniera
The Publican:
Oysters
Nonna’s Pizza & Sandwiches:
Famous for their meatball sub.
Green Street Smoked Meets:
Texas BBQ with a great atmosphere
Mr. Beef:
The Italian sausage spot where they film The Bear and where Andrew parks for work. Like the show, it mostly gets by on what it used to be. But it’s fun to see.
Trivoli Tavern:
The sticky date cake is Nora’s favorite dessert in the city.
Small Cheval:
Good burgers, fries, and beer without the price of Au Cheval.
Creepies:
Chicago influenced French food (or French influenced Chicago food)
Pequod’s:
Chicago-style deep dish pizza. It's better than Lou' Malnati's.
Shaw’s:
Where Andrew found out there is a limit to how many oysters one can or should eat in a night (around 30).
Theater on the Lake:
Casual spot overlooking the lake by the zoo in Lincoln Park. Where Nora and Andrew start their weekend runs.
Cindy’s Rooftop:
Downtown rooftop bar with a view of Millennium Park. Parlay this into a trip to the Art Institute. Or figure out how to save the man stuck inside the bean.
The Aviary:
Fancy, inventive cocktails.
City Winery at the Riverwalk:
The riverwalk is one of the best ways to take in Chicago’s architecture.
Waterfront Cafe:
Make the trek up to Edgewater to enjoy a lobster roll next to the lake at one of Andrew’s favorite college hangout spots.
Architecture Tour:
Nora and Andrew have probably taken this tour an aggregate of 10 times. Never gets old.
Water Taxi to Chinatown:
Get the same views of the architecture tour (for cheaper) on a water taxi and finish with dumplings at QXY.
Lakefront Trail:
The best view is near the Planetarium at sunrise.
Museum Campus:
Museums can be cool!
Navy Pier:
A tourist trap, but the rooftop bar (Offshore) is great.
